Onyaka Is A Free Web-Based Staff Planning App
Got an important project that requires a staff of several people and want a simple tool for managing and planning out your schedule and staff? Webapp Onyaka can help.
As far as project management applications go, Onyaka is really simple to use. That’s probably because it’s not as robust as most project management tools. Instead, it focuses on addressing only one aspect of project management: Staffing your project and scheduling your staff. Of course, “project” is used broadly here, and Onyaka could be useful for anything from scheduling the employees of your small business to managing skills and planning the work schedule of a large office staff. Check out the Onyaka screencasts for a quick getting-started guide. If you’ve used something like Onyaka in the past, let’s hear more about what worked for you in the comments.

Looks pretty interesting...good free app for small businesses maybe.

My fiancee does scheduling for a crisis counseling center, so well see if this webapp can tackle something of THAT magnitude. Even if it can't, still seems like a great idea.
Back now.
We already broke them. Boo.
The site doesn't seem to indicate whether SSL is part of the free package, though it does mention an Enterprise and Professional option. I'd prefer to not make an account to find out. Their Help and Wiki don't mention SSL either.

do you guys know anything that would do that connecting to an exchange server for availability of users?

We just started using RAPLA and we are having good luck with it. We use to schedule our contract workers and I like that I can get a calendar at a glance for everyone working on a given day... you can find it at Rapla.org another plus is it is free and you house it on your own server so you can really control who sees your stuff..

I wonder if this could be suitable alternative for staffmate.com
Seems quite user-friendly. Will try this to out on my dev team at work to see what they think

@EarlPanoptes: Versus Picasa logo (that's what I thought had opened at first)
Mmmhh... this would have come useful about a year ago. We used a Google Docs spreadsheet to staff some 20 consultants; kind of clunky but served the purpose.

Just what I've been looking for our support team rota, thanks!
I use Google Calendar, which can get the Exchange calendar items when pushed to the associated Google email address. I like the viewing of multiple calendars at once, it works for about 6 people at once (more than that and it looks pretty jumbled).
