Zoho Gadgets Puts Your Web Work Nearly Anywhere
Online office suite Zoho one-ups its Google counterpart by offering a half-dozen quick-access gadgets for its Docs, Mail, Calendar, and other webapps, embeddable in Gmail, Facebook, iGoogle start pages, and nearly anywhere.
Zoho’s gadgets use the OpenSocial standard and pipe out as fairly standard XML. In plain speak, that means they can be embedded on web pages and blogs, in iGoogle or any other XML/RSS-friendly start page, and, particularly helpful, as a Gmail sidebar gadget.
As ReadWriteWeb points out, you won’t have to authorise the gadgets separately on Gmail or iGoogle, as the gadgets support a pass-through oAuth. On social networks, the gadget act more like “applications,” letting you choose who to share docs or information with and adding them to your profile.
Zoho keeps getting handier and more feature-rich every week. Got a good use for these gadgets? Tell us about it in the comments. Zoho Gadgets [via ReadWriteWeb]

Zoho, at times, openly admits it's not always up to snuff on Safari support. I saw evidence of that, during a brief trial. If only they'd keep up, I'd be glad to try it out.
I still use both, but I find myself increasingly using Zoho over Google Docs. It's a great little company, and they innovate quickly. I'm still very attached to Gmail, though, so I'm glad to see a way to incorporate Zoho Docs with other Google services.
