
Everybody’s going bigger with the move to HDTVs, but the thinner footprint of flat panel televisions has opened up all kinds of creative methods for hiding the TV out-of-site when you’re not using it.
Over at Apartment Therapy, they’ve detailed how to hide your HDTV by taking advantage of the unused space below a mantle. The post doesn’t offer much in terms of a guide, but the idea is great, and the results are impressive—especially for folks who aren’t keen on the way a big old TV can ugly up a room.

Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 10:06 AMWarning to anyone doing this, make sure to provide for proper ventilation above and behind the TV, as they generate a lot of heat and without ventilation will burn out your TV prematurely.
Also, don’t turn on your Fireplace, that’s just stupid!
