Google Calendar Agenda Puts Your Schedule In The Vista Sidebar

I like this. Using XP at work and Vista at home, but I always tend to check the weather in the morning at home. Now I can look at the day's agenda as well!

I've been using this Gadget for a while now on Vista and the newest update fixed a lot of my problems. It now works with a Google Apps domain very well and I am very pleased.

I paired this with another Gadget called Gmail Counter that notifies me of new e-mails as they arrive.

Now only if there was something like Webmailer for Windows so that I can replace the slow loading Affixa.

Finally a good reason to use vista sidebar again!

Really, I think Windows Gadgets are underrated. I wish there were SO many more as they can be quite useful.

This is nice. I pulled it out of the sidebar and put it on the desktop on my second monitor.

Anyone know of a similar sidebar gadget for the Google taskbar? I think I've spent way too much time on finding a ToDo list type gadget without finding anything I liked.

this is fantastic. i've been hunting for a good gcal interface for ages. absolutely ideal for my needs. i love that i can use it to add events too.

This is getting creepy. I keep finding and using things and they pop up on life hacker shortly after. I've been running almost the exact same set up as the Aero Firefox thing for about a month now.

I've been using this one here for a few weeks, its worked great.

You can use it in XP with the Windows Sidebar application and gadget extractor.

The same author has an identical companion gmail app (that I think was featured on LH a while ago), that works - and looks - equally well.

the default setup is for gmail, although you might be able tweak it so that it works for other clients too.
i'm tempted to try tweaking it myself, but unfortunately i'm marooned knee deep in a CS project T__T

According to lifehacker itself, you can install the Vista sidebar (including this app) on Windows XP as well. Do a search...

This is great. I've using Rainlendar sync with Google Calendar and put it over the vista sidebar, but this looks very nice. I'll give it a shot.

Explaining a bit further, when entering using the command window in the gadget, it enters into Google Calendar correctly.

The only problem I am having with it is, it seems to add the the time twice when I add an appt. through Google Calendar web interface now.

for instance: Entering

10 am My meeting

Loads in the google calendar (and also back to the sidebar gadget) as:

10 am 10 am My meeting.

When I close the gadget, all is entered correctly.
