Free Music Archive Puts Thousands Of Royalty-Free Songs Up For Grabs

What a great resource! I'm always looking for CC media (because I don't support RIAA garbage). The tip jar is a damn sweet feature too.

Very cool. I recently had a little video I made pulled from FB for copyright violation. I find it hard to understand why my playing Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" over the top of my friends and I kayaking is really going to be taking money from their pocket....in fact several people commented they like the song, so I might have helped them. But anyway, it was yanked. Next time I'll use this.

I'm assuming that most are not "popular" main-stream songs. Still looks like a good resource though.

Site is god-awful slow - at least it is right now.

I recently did my own mix or a short video it was really bad.
This could be the solution for the musically impaired.

Nice... I'm always looking for background music for my Youtube videos. And although I have used some of the clips provided by Youtube on a few, I hate that advertisement that has to pop up in the middle, that I didn't find out about until after I had added it to two videos.

What is the music like on there? Has anyone here found anything really good on it yet?

What is the best way to find music for specific projects. For example, how do I find appropriate songs for a video montage in memory of someone who has just passed away?

The site has made the interface waaaay more readable and visually pleasing since the last time i used it (which was about a year ago, pretty much right after it came out and the 365 days project ended)I went through it again, and they really have made their archives easier to look through and find music. I applaud them. Before I spent hours flipping through their blog and trying to navigate through the old layout to find music, because it is a huge resource for interesting music that you might end up falling in love with.

As far as good music on it goes-I like Kurt Vile a lot, for example and I love listening to international music which is a bit more difficult to find online, especially for free.
