Create A Colour Palette From A Single Image

Colors Palette Generator turns a picture with a pleasing look into a palette of equally pleasing colours for your web site or design project. You can upload any PNG, GIF or JPEG that is less than 1MB in size and Colours Palette Generator will extract colours from it. The application creates three basic palettes of the light, medium, and dark colours, as well as a grid of 49 shades from the image if you’re not satisfied with the palettes it has created. Once you’ve got the look you like, you can export it as either a Photoshop swatches file or as a CSS stylesheet. Free to use, no sign-up required.

Create Skittles-Flavored Vodka

Certain combinations of things are practically fated to be together: peanut butter and jelly, nachos and cheese, Skittles and vodka. Skittles and vodka? Yes, and you can really taste the rainbow. Being a nearly flavorless high-proof alcohol with a vampire-like ability to suck the flavors out of things dumped into it, vodka can be shifted into a lot of flavor profiles, as we noted in our previous post on DIY infusions. Skittles are certainly not immune to such alchemical magic. Over at the appropriately named blog Mix That Drink, they’ve put together a detailed and photo-heavy tutorial for combining cheap candy and cheap vodka into a rainbow of palette-punching goodness. If you’re horrified by the idea of turning vodka, even the bottom shelf variety, into a fluorescent lime-flavored potion, don’t despair. You can easily swap out the swill for a bottle of the top shelf stuff and infuse it in a more gentile manner with anything you can imagine: vanilla beans, fruit, spices, and wherever your mind takes it. Stream And Download Music With MP3 Search

MP3 Search is a web music finder with a simple interface. Similar to previously reviewed Mix Turtle, MP3 Search sports a spartan, grab-it-and-go interface. Unlike Mix Turtle, though, you can download the tracks to your computer. The music you select loads in a small pop-up flash player for preview or quick listen, though you can’t queue up multiple tracks as on Seeqpod. If you have a favourite site for streaming music or finding tunes, sound off in the comments below.

VetHelpDirect Helps You Diagnose Your Pet

VetHelpDirect is a web-based assessment tool for determining whether or not your pet needs veterinary care, as well as getting reliable information about various animal behaviours and conditions. The site has expanded to provide assessments and facts on horses, donkeys, rabbits, reptiles, and birds, but Fido and Mr. Scruffles are covered as well, of course. Head to the site, select an animal, then answer a series of questions. Based on the responses to the questions, the site database will recommend immediate emergency veterinary care, care within the next day, or assure the user that the behaviour is not usually an indicator of an illness, or just needs at-home treatment. In addition to the assessment tool, there are general guides on pet care and conditions to help pet owners take better preventative care of their animals. Free to use, no sign-up required.
