Just wondering - why is it cheaper to buy a return ticket from Eur-Aus-Eur than it is to buy Aus-Eur-Aus? It's the case all year round irrelevant of peak times.

Woops. Should have read the Creedy article first. Hmm just missed out on VAustralia $1200 flights (though SYD to LAX invariably, not PER-EWR or PER-JFK) by about 26 days! For future readers: the VAustralia deal doesn't fly until 27th February. Guess I'll just have to suck it up and pay an extra 50% or more for the 3 or 6 month ticket.

Kidding me? $2k for Au to LDN? I have the opposite problem to you Angus, I find cheap flight to Europe whilst you find cheap flights to U.S. I fly often to N.Y. from Perth and since the taxes (and fuel and all other 'extra's etcetera) have gone up it's rare to get a flight around the $1800 mark. I have an idea, I'll find you cheap Au to EU flights and you find me Au to U.S. flights! What do you say? LOL. I look forward to booking a Feb 2009 N.Y. flight for under $1200...including taxes! In early December I saw on Emriates.com.au that EK had a $1516 but missed it as it had to be paid by Dec 15 (2008) and wasn't sure which date I was going. Think it included taxes.
