I personally believe that social networks smashed together with business apps could equal perfection. What could be better than a CRM system with customer details, where the customers keep their entries updated themselves? And you get a record of everything they are saying about you. See my blog for more of my thoughts on this: http://community.zdnet.co.uk/blog/0,1000000567,2000561249b,00.htm

That said, Salesforce, com has gone into this area chasing headlines rather than thinking strategically. Facebook is not the platform to be trying in interact with customers, unless SFDC is admitting that their whole enterprise and developer bases target just the Business to Consumer space...?

Expect more partnerships of this sort, but where the benefits to all have been more thoroughly considered.
