&lt;p&gt;A friend told me about the freezing method. If you can&#039;t get the drive to spin up, put it in a sealed plastic bag and then dump it in the freezer for a few hours.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Once it&#039;s frozen hook it up and try booting. I&#039;ve had very good success for a few friends who thought they&#039;d lost data forever.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
