I wander between Firefox Sage, Google Reader (Safari, Opera, Netvibes, Mac Dashboard widget), Mac Mail feed reader, and various feeds on iGoogle and Netvibes. None of these, absolutely none, is absolutely perfect!

iGoogle/Netvibes gadgets give little two-line summaries begging for a time-consuming click. Very much untailorable, with sources to my liking not always to be found.

Sage has a somewhat nice interface (2 columns make for easy reading, graphics readily available). However, Sage is available only on Firefox.

Google Reader is more widely available. It's the "Buick" of RSS readers (IMHO). Klunky interface, not attractive at all, still all in all a last resort because I may set it up for one gmail account and access across all browsers on MacOSX and Windows on any computer or handheld across the world (or as much of the world as I've seen...)

Is that all there is? I'd be VERY glad to hear alternatives!

Personally, I use Klipfolio as my desktop newsreader.

For me, Vienna has always been the best RSS reader.

Much easier on the eye than Google Reader, and you can organise it like iTunes. It even has smart folders.
