I have a question. what if i want to see an application on the two monitors stretcht? I have a dvr application that cannot be full screen it's default full screen and i need to extend the screen of that application to the second monitor.
Is there any way to do that?

I'm using a notebook in three different scenarios (with an additional 19" monitor in the office, with a 22" widescreen at home, and on its own at all other times). I'm looking for a utility which will remember multiple display configurations (how many monitors, the resolutions of each, the relative positions of each, the wallpapers for each, etc) and allow me to quickly apply them.
A utility supplied by Lenovo with my machine, Intel GMA (Graphics Media Accelerator) remembers everything except the wallpapers. Does anyone know of a utility which can remember all display scheme options? I'll happily pay for the right solution.

You mean you can still get computers with just 1 monitor? Why would you do that?
I've been using duals for quite awhile now. Use my 17" for my main stuff, like Visual basic and my little 15" for help files, notes etc. Sometime I use the little one for Explorer and file management, while using the big one to open stuff and look at it. There's a million different ways to be more productive with multi-monitors. It's amazing how fast you can fill up 1 screen(even 2 actually) when you need as much help as I do. I've been thinking for some time that I need another little 15" monitor.

I think this article should mention Leopard's 'Spaces' for the Mac users out there. Not least because of the fantastic utility called 'Warp' as described here:

http://jkontherun.blogs.com/jkontherun/2008/02/warp-between-sp.html

I've just installed this Warp utility and its the first time I've really used Spaces since upgrading to Leopard. The combination of the 2 is so smooth and natural (even on my poor old Core Solo Mac Mini) that it has stopped me even considering the purchase of a second monitor (I run a single Dell 24" LCD). Can't say better than that.
