Yahoo Mail is the worst webmail since Hotmail crawled into bed with Microsoft. It's not standards compliant, and on a dial-up connection it's painfully slow (and frequently fails to load at all).

The unlimited email storage space sounds enticing, but I've rarely used more than 10% of Gmail storage space.

And being forced to view a news page that doesn't even appear to be customizable (I will confess, that I've not looked closely enough to confirm that) first rather than my inbox in just downright annoying.

I won't be straying from Gmail for my primary personal email for the foreseeable future.
